Hey Jamie,
Great show at Big Shotz on Saturday Night. I was with Robin Hanson and you sat down in the booth before the show to chat with us. I really enjoy your music. Especially the B. Springteen stuff!
One of these days I'll be saying I knew Jamie Carroll when he played small venues!
Take care and keep up the good work!

Oh my gosh. We so enjoyed the music on the patio at Beef 'O' Brady's. It was a magical night. The extra guest singers and players were awesome. I already sent Mooch a big thanks for I think he arranged it as a surprise to you, Jamie. We just got the benefit of it. I'm glad you got to sit and enjoy your friends a little when you were not wowing us with your great voice and music. Looking forward to the next time you can play for us. We do love having you here at Beef's.

That was an amazing show. Everyone seemed so happy and you all were astounding. I didn't know that was his father..what talent and what a wonderful surprise. Thank you Jamie and friends for giving us one of the best music nights that I can remember. You rock as a musician, father, human being in general :D..thank you.

Thank you for your honesty, your heartfelt music and bringing it to us show after show.
I hope you get from us (the fans - YOUR FANS) how much we admire and appreciate your music. If it weren't for your music I would have never met some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. We came together as strangers and are now a "family of friends". It really doesn't get anymore real than that.
Again, you keep doing what you do and we'll keep showing up in support of you and your music.

I agree with your comment "STOP CHILD ABUSE AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE" and speaking out. I really do think that we have to speak up about a lot of things. There are so many people that want to judge, gossip, cause hurt..in this world. Bullying or abuse of any kind is ignorant and does have to be faced head on.

Jamie,
You and Mooch sounded awesome on the patio at Beef 'O Brady's tonight. I'm so glad the weather is allowing us to use the patio again. I'm only sorry we had to leave early. Hubby is hurting these days and a minor surgery is in the near future. Say your prayers because he is the love of my life. I do love reading your journals and can relate to a lot of what you are saying. I wish people were more accepting and less judgemental. We all have stuff in our lives and we are all searching for answers that we may never get in this life. I choose to believe that God knows best and that His ways and thoughts are higher than mine. Keep on keeping on because we need people like you who sing about things we wish we could express ourselves. Thanks for being yourself.

Please don't listen to people who do not really know your heart. Remember there will always be someone out there who will want to bring you down and make you question yourself, your motives or even your reason for being. Those people sit in judgement of others without ever looking in the mirror to see where their real problem lies.
I haven't had the privelege of knowing you for years as some of your fans, but I consider you a friend now that I have gotten to know you. I can say in all honesty that your music is how you heal your heart and soul and no one can ever take that away from you.

Wow there is a lot of reflection going on these days. I received an email today from a friend who stated the following: "We cannot allow our past, our circumstances or the words of other people to produce emotional paralysis".
I think this goes nicely with your journal entry today......please let Jamie Lynn know we are thinking of her and you during this time of loss.

Very nice posting today Jamie. Very true..there are SO many opportunities for forgiveness of others and ourselves. These are really good lyrics..you forget songs like that over time. Thank you for the reminder. Oh and I'll try to continue to bring more people..I tell people often and try to get new converts. I know that you probably get too tired of seeing me out there in the crowd. :-D

December 26, 2010
Hey there Jamie! For some reason I just discovered your last Journal entry from December 6th. All I can say is WOW! You are SO right, and I SO understand! Your comments are excellent, about "goodness is goodness and all truth....is truth" and "all of us change, some of us change SEVERAL times. Isn't it awesome that we have been born with the ability to do so?" Yes!!! :D I too have taken several paths on my journey in life, and I often look back and wonder how in the world I made it through. But then I realize, that every step that I took, every good and bad (and there were way too many bad) thing that I have gone through was for a reason.....for me to discover who I am and what I need to do in this life in order to be happy and to help others. I have learned that I need to Live, Laugh and most importantly LOVE! My connection to God is my own unique and private connection. My truth is who I am and I have changed several times over the years, always for the better and I am now, ALWAYS true to myself! I do not trust those who do not like animals or music! I believe that you should not judge others, you should know your Source, you should do what is right and again, those three "L" words.....LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE!! Thanks for your journal entry, your insight and wisdom and for being, as always, Real!!
Rhonda

I'll try not to write too much :-D (disclaimer up front)...WELLLLLLL, I of course like the entire cd. Really like Jerry's mandolin in Looking Glass and "Things..". 3-7 are beautifull. Mooch's playing jumped out for me on If Forever Ends. Really like the version of Things I Said I'd Never do-great song! Numbers 7 and 9 are such nice tributes to JLC. On Let You Down though..you're not just singing cover songs (which are great too)..but you know that we all appreciate ALL of your music and you. Really like the guitar intro on Bethel Rd. Glad that you added Dark and that you resurrected The Church and the Graveyard (think you said this is the original version..really liked it). WELLLLLL, Obviously.....I didn't keep my word on short..so shutting up now. Thanks for the music, being who you are and for connecting.

Hello Jamie! What a great sound when you sang my cousin, Bruce's song, "Dear Father". Hi Jamie! I haven't seen you in forEVER! I have been trying to keep up with your life via Facebook; thank goodness for social networking sites, hehe. I just finished reading your most recent journal entry, song lyrics included, and I was really moved by all of it. I felt myself hungry to continue reading your raw emotions and words. I'm glad you are so insightful, thoughtful, and gracious for all that is a part of your life. More people need to find a way to cherish what they have rather than what they don't. Good luck in your pursuits and, I know you will, keep singing!
P.S. It wouldn't hurt to workout, too!! :P

I read your post Jamie. I love you and I appreciate your writings and singing. It's funny how different we all are over 30 years after we all met, yet how much of us still remains the same!
I agree that our silence is often much stronger than ours words. If I could go back and re-do every time I wish I would have remained silent and traded that for the words I spoke. Well perhaps I needed to learn the lessons, perhaps it was though those mistakes that I really learned to grow. When I learned the value of being quite. Resting in silence can be sweet and secure though!
Continue seeking Him Jamie!
Love to you and your family,

Jamie,
I just read your post... about life, about Bruce... it was very touching. It's funny how many different paths we are given in life, and the roads we CHOOSE to take, and how they make us all into unique individuals; the people we are today! I am truly thankful that we got to know one another in high school, and how (even though we don't talk often), I still consider you a friend. Your music is as wonderful as you!
You know, regardless of what you believe, I truly feel like we are given certain opportunities in life (there is a reason for it all), and I feel like you have been given such a talent to make a difference in so many lives! I can only imagine how exhausting it gets to be with working all day, spending time with your family, and then entertaining the masses. So don't ever forget to sometimes take a break for yourself; just to chill and enjoy the day without wearing yourself out. But for all of the people out there (myself included) that you have sang to, "THANK YOU"... you make a difference! I hope your spirits are lifted today (on this beautiful weekend)! I don't really know why I am commenting, but after reading your blog, I just felt like I needed to say "Thank You", and to let you know that you are thought of! Enjoy your weekend my friend, and I hope to see you again soon!!!

Thank you for being brave enough to post the animal cruelty video. I can tell you that those were not isolated incidents- they are industry standards. ALL factory farms operate in those ways. I passed a truck the other day with a load of pigs on the way to the slaughterhouse. I had to pull over on the side of the road because I couldn't stop crying. People tend to think of animal rights groups as crazy, irrational freaks. I am none of those. I am caring and compassionate for all living beings. I did not decide to become vegetarian because I didn't like the taste of meat. I have been vegetarian for 3 1/2 years now and when I look at a piece of meat I see a dead carcass of a living being who- just like humans, want to live, raise their young and avoid pain and suffering. Everyone who chooses to eat meat should be required to spend a day at these factory farms. How can anyone claim to be kind or compassionate, or love animals, yet eat them?
